Born in Belgium, Mariette Withages grew up with the horses of her grandparents and started riding at an early age. Her judging career started in 1969 and she has been a six time judge at the World Cup Finals. She was also the first woman President of the Ground Jury for the 1998 World Equestrian Games She has been an organizer, manager and judge for competitions world wide. In 2001 Ms Withages became the President of the FEI Dressage Committee.
