Best dressage horse of all times – three-time World Champion, three-time world record holder

In a short space of time, Totilas set three world records, which he himself had broken again and again under Edward Gal. In only two years, this exceptional stallion has won all the titles there are to win – two times individual gold and team gold at the 2010 World Championships, individual and team gold at the European Championships in Windsor, 2010 World Cup winner and best horse of the German silver team with Matthias Alexander Rath in 2011. Before this, he had already won the Grand Prix Special in Munich and Wiesbaden, became two-time German Champion in Balve and won all three competitions in Aachen. Now in breeding you can see his trademark: In 2012, Totilas set a new record with the most expensive foal, Total Recall (200.000€) who was sold in Vechta. His first offspring in 2011 were exceptional and were sold for top prices. Total Ideal was auctioned for 105,000 Euros at the Oldenburg Summer Mixed Sales and Tout le Monde cost 90,000 Euros at the Oldenburg Elite Auction. In Hannover a mare who was in foal to Totilas was sold for 42.000 Euros and Totilas foals were sold for excellent prices. In 2013 his first three sons were licensed in Redefin, Münster and Verden, whereupon Toto Junior reached a top price of 100.000 Euros at the Hanoverian stallion market and Edward Gal secured this one for himself. The sire of Totilas, Gribaldi, was Trakehner Champion Stallion, “Trakehner Stallion of the Year 2008” and was himself internationally successful with Edward Gal.
The sire Gribaldi has consistently produced top-class horses such as World Cup winner Painted Black/Anky van Grunsven, Grand Prix winner Sisther de Jeu/Edward Gal, Peter Pan/Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, BMC Pasternak/Coby van Baalen, Girasol/Nadine Capellmann and Zardin Firfod/Patrick Kittel. There are 25 licensed sons in Germany, including the Trakehner Champion Stallion Imhotep and Reserve Champion All Inclusive. Totilas' dam has produced one intermediate (M) and one advanced (S) level dressage horse as well as Totilas' full sister, Uusminka. The grand dam Elsa produced the advanced (S) level dressage horses Talan and Uljanoff. The dam line, which contains a lot of Holstein blood through the stallions Glendale, Akteur, Pericles xx and Farn which played a major role in the Dutch performance breeding, is originated from the Oldenburg line Freiminka (by Godin-Rheinfürst etc.). This line produced many successful sport horses and licensed stallion such as Iowa, Topas, Palermo/Wolfgang Kun und Marius/Caroline Bradley.
